Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of A-RAF only when phosphorylated at Ser582.

Target Information

Several serine/threonine protein kinases act as intermediates in signal transduction pathways, including ERK/MAP kinases, ribosomal S6 kinase (Rsk), and Raf-1.
Raf-1 is a cytoplasmic protein with intrinsic serine/threonine activity, broadly expressed across cell lines, and is the cellular homolog of v-Raf, the transforming gene product of murine sarcoma virus strain 3611.
Unregulated kinase activity of v-Raf is associated with transformation and mitogenesis, whereas Raf-1 activity is normally suppressed by a regulatory N-terminal domain.
A-Raf, another member of the Raf gene family, shares substantial homology with Raf-1 in the kinase domain but less elsewhere. A-Raf expression is highest in urogenital tissues and kidney and lowest in brain tissue.
