Product Specific Information

PA1972A555 detects proteasome 20S LMP7 from human cells.
The immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 259–274 from human proteasome 20S LMP7 protein.
This sequence is completely conserved between human, mouse, rat, and sheep.
The immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-132) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.


Target Information

The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure composed of 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits (2 alpha and 2 beta rings).
Proteasomes are distributed throughout eukaryotic cells and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent process in a non-lysosomal pathway.
The immunoproteasome processes class I MHC peptides.
This gene encodes a 20S core beta subunit of the proteasome B-type (T1B) family, located in the MHC class II region.
Expression is induced by gamma interferon, replacing the catalytic subunit 3 (proteasome beta 5 subunit) in the immunoproteasome.
Proteolytic processing generates the mature subunit. Two alternative transcripts encoding two isoforms have been identified; both yield the same mature subunit.
