The immunizing peptide corresponds to amino acid residues 259–274 from human proteasome 20S LMP7 protein.
This sequence is completely conserved between human, mouse, rat, and sheep.
PA1972A488 immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-132) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Target Information
The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered 20S core structure composed of 4 rings containing 28 non-identical subunits (7 alpha and 7 beta per ring).
Proteasomes are abundant in eukaryotic cells and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent, non-lysosomal pathway.
The immunoproteasome processes class I MHC peptides.
PSMB8 encodes a member of the proteasome B-type (T1B) family, a 20S core beta subunit located in the MHC class II region.
Expression is induced by gamma interferon, replacing the beta 5 catalytic subunit in the immunoproteasome.
Proteolytic processing generates the mature subunit. Two alternative transcripts encode isoforms that yield the same mature subunit.
