• Store vial at -20°C prior to opening.
• Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage.
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody reacts with the C-terminus of endogenous NAG-1 protein from human and mouse tissues.
A BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with NAG-1 from chimpanzee and macaque based on 100% homology.
Partial reactivity is expected against rat (86% homology).
Cross-reactivity with NAG-1 from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

GDF-15 belongs to the TGF-beta cytokine family, which plays an important role in prenatal development, postnatal growth, and tissue remodeling.
It is expressed predominantly in the placenta and to a lesser extent in other tissues.
Presence in amniotic fluid and elevated levels in pregnant women suggest involvement in gestation and embryonic development.
GDF-15 generally exerts tumor suppressive activities and is a major factor produced in response to p53 pathway activation.
Serum levels of GDF-15 correlate with progression of several tumor types including colorectal, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.
