This antibody reacts with all isoforms of mouse CD44.
Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human leukocytes, white matter of the brain, and various epithelial cells. It functions as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and plays roles in cell adhesion, migration, and lymphocyte activation. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, contributing to structural and functional diversity. CD44 expression is associated with various physiological and pathological processes, including tumor metastasis, immune cell trafficking, and epithelial cell interactions. Disorders linked to CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus.
