This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of murine CD45 antigen (Leukocyte Common Antigen), a single-chain type I transmembrane protein expressed at high levels on cells of hematopoietic origin, except erythrocytes and platelets.
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) ubiquitously expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes.
It is absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues. CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases.
Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
CD45 is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling, JAK kinase regulation, and modulation of integrin-mediated signaling pathways.
