This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of murine CD45 antigen (Leukocyte Common Antigen), a single-chain type I transmembrane protein expressed at high levels on hematopoietic cells except erythrocytes and platelets.
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cells and tissues. CD45 plays a critical role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling by regulating Src-family kinases and JAK kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. CD45 is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling, cytokine receptor regulation, and integrin-mediated survival pathways.
