Product Specific Information

Description:
The SJ25C1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells during all developmental stages except plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. It forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with the BCR to mediate signaling, phosphorylation, calcium flux, and proliferation.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirically determined).

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on nearly all peripheral B cells and some myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor with the B cell receptor (BCR), regulating B cell activation and proliferation. Mutations can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
