Target Information

Anaplastic Lymphoma Receptor Tyrosine Kinase (ALK) belongs to the insulin receptor superfamily and plays a crucial role in brain development.
Mutations, rearrangements, and amplifications in the ALK gene have been identified in several tumors, including anaplastic large cell lymphoma, neuroblastoma, and non-small cell lung cancer.

Chromosomal rearrangement often leads to a fusion gene combining the ALK gene (chromosome 2) and the nucleophosmin (NPM) gene (chromosome 5), producing the oncogenic NPM-ALK fusion protein.
ALK is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase with a putative transmembrane and extracellular domain, showing the greatest sequence similarity to LTK.
It plays an important role in neuronal development and signaling within the nervous system.
