Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of all alternative forms of human CD45 antigen (Leukocyte Common Antigen), a 180–220 kDa single-chain type I transmembrane protein expressed at high levels on all cells of hematopoietic origin, except erythrocytes and platelets.
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) ubiquitously expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein plays a critical role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases and cytokine receptor signaling. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
CD45 is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling, modulation of integrin-mediated pathways, and apoptosis regulation.
