This antibody detects endogenous levels of RSK1/2/3/4 only when phosphorylated at Ser221/227/S218/232.

Target Information

The p90 ribosomal S6 kinases (RSKs) are a family of serine/threonine kinases functioning at the terminus of the ERK pathway. In humans, this family includes four isoforms (RSK1–RSK4). Each member contains two distinct, catalytically functional kinase domains activated sequentially by phosphorylation. RSK regulates gene expression by phosphorylating transcriptional regulators such as c-Fos, estrogen receptor, NFκB/IκBα, and CREB. ERK activation leads to phosphorylation of the C-terminal kinase of RSK, which subsequently activates the N-terminal kinase. RSKs are found in both cytoplasm and nucleus, and upon activation, cytosolic RSK translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate and activate transcription factors.
