Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-κB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits. TNFα binding to its receptor activates IKK, which phosphorylates IκB and leads to its proteasomal degradation. NF-κB p65 plays a key role in transcriptional regulation of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
