Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of transcription factors. It forms a heterodimer with subunits p50 or p52 and plays a pivotal role in regulating immune and inflammatory responses. Activation occurs via TNFα-mediated phosphorylation of IKK, leading to degradation of IκB and nuclear translocation of NF-kB p65, which promotes transcription of immunoglobulin kappa genes in mature B-lymphoid cells.
