This antibody has 95% sequence homology with rat, monkey, golden hamster, and rabbit; 90% with mouse, and 75% with bovine.
Target Information
CD36, also known as scavenger receptor class B member 3, is a protein expressed on the surface of various cell types including macrophages, platelets, and adipocytes. It plays a key role in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis by mediating the recognition and uptake of ligands such as oxidized LDL, long-chain fatty acids, and apoptotic cells. CD36 also acts as a receptor for thrombospondin and is involved in malaria pathogenesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with platelet glycoprotein deficiency and coronary heart disease 7.
