The target sequence has 95% sequence homology with rat, monkey, golden hamster, and rabbit; 90% with mouse; and 75% with bovine.
Target Information
CD36 (scavenger receptor class B member 3) is expressed on macrophages, platelets, and adipocytes. It plays roles in lipid metabolism, inflammation, and atherosclerosis, mediating uptake of oxidized LDL, long-chain fatty acids, and apoptotic cells. CD36 also contributes to malaria pathogenesis and serves as a receptor for thrombospondin. Mutations cause platelet glycoprotein deficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist. Associated diseases include Platelet Glycoprotein IV Deficiency and Coronary Heart Disease 7.
