Rac1 is a GTPase belonging to the RAS superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins. Members of this superfamily regulate various cellular events, including cell growth control, cytoskeletal reorganization, and activation of protein kinases. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for the Rac1 gene.
