This antibody detects endogenous levels of E2F1 only when phosphorylated at Ser364.
Target Information
The E2F1 protein is a member of the E2F family of transcription factors that play a crucial role in cell cycle control and tumor suppressor protein function. It contains conserved domains including:
- DNA binding domain
- Dimerization domain (interacts with DP proteins)
- Transactivation domain enriched in acidic amino acids
- Tumor suppressor protein association domain within the transactivation domain
E2F1, along with E2F2 and E2F3, has an additional cyclin binding domain. It binds preferentially to retinoblastoma protein (pRB) in a cell-cycle-dependent manner and can mediate both cell proliferation and p53-dependent or independent apoptosis.
