Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
BDNF (Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) is a member of the neurotrophin family. It is synthesized as pre-proBDNF and processed to proBDNF, which is biologically active. Mature BDNF (14 kDa) and pro-BDNF are secreted in synaptic vesicles. BDNF acts via TrkB and p75-NTR receptors, promoting neuronal survival, differentiation, and synaptic regulation. It plays a critical role in memory formation and is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s, as well as mood disorders.
