Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, or at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) plays key roles in vertebrate neuron survival and differentiation. Neurturin (NTN), a novel neurotrophic factor cloned from human and mouse, requires receptor tyrosine kinase RET and the glycosylphosphatidylinositol-linked receptor NTNRα for physiological responses. NTN binds with GFR-α2 and RET PTK to activate the RET receptor tyrosine kinase pathway. Both NTN and GDNF activate MAP kinase and PI3 kinase pathways, critical for neuronal development. Neurturin and GDNF define a new family of neurotrophic factors.
