Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water.
Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability.
Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
GDNF (Glial cell line-Derived Neurotrophic Factor) is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer molecule.
It was first identified as a potent survival factor for midbrain dopaminergic neurons and shown to rescue these neurons in animal models of Parkinson’s disease.
GDNF is approximately 100 times more efficient as a survival factor for spinal motor neurons than neurotrophins.
It enhances survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake.
