Product Specific Information

Reconstitute in 250 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20 °C for higher stability, and at 4 °C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability.

Target Information

Nerve growth factor (NGF) influences the survival and differentiation of various neuronal and non-neuronal cells.
Its actions result from binding to specific cell surface receptors with high and low affinity sites.
Only the high-affinity receptor form is capable of signal transduction.
Cross-linking studies with ¹²⁵I-NGF have shown that the high-affinity receptor of rat PC12 cells forms a 158 kDa complex with NGF, while the low-affinity receptor forms a 100 kDa complex.
Human and rat NGF receptor genes show greater than 90% homology.
NGF is involved in the regulation of growth and differentiation of sympathetic and sensory neurons and is associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type 5 (HSAN5) and allergic rhinitis.
