Target Information
This gene encodes a C2H2 zinc finger protein with transactivation and DNA-binding activities. It has anti-proliferative properties and is believed to function as a tumor suppressor. Overexpression during fetal development is associated with transient neonatal diabetes mellitus (TNDM). The gene is imprinted with preferential expression of the paternal allele, though biallelic expression occurs in some tissues. Tissue-specific imprinting may result from differential promoter usage. Multiple transcript variants with distinct 5' UTRs encode two isoforms.
