Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
MP68, also known as PLPM or C14orf2 (chromosome 14 open reading frame 2), is a 58-amino-acid mitochondrial protein belonging to the small mitochondrial proteolipid family. The MP68 gene is located on human chromosome 14, which contains over 700 genes and represents approximately 3.5% of the human genome. Chromosome 14 encodes the presenilin 1 (PSEN1) gene, one of the three key genes associated with the development of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The SERPINA1 gene is also located on this chromosome and, when defective, leads to alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic disorder characterized by severe lung and liver dysfunction.
