Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Adiponectin (also known as 30-kDa adipocyte complement-related protein; Acrp30) is a hormone secreted by adipocytes that acts as an antidiabetic and anti-atherogenic adipokine. Blood levels of adiponectin decrease under conditions of obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. Administration of adiponectin lowers glucose levels and improves insulin resistance in mice, while adiponectin-deficient mice exhibit insulin resistance and diabetes.
Adiponectin receptors 1 and 2 (AdipoR1 and AdipoR2) were cloned by expression cloning.
- AdipoR1: abundantly expressed in skeletal muscle
- AdipoR2: predominantly expressed in liver
Both receptors contain seven transmembrane domains and mediate adiponectin-induced activation of AMP kinase and PPAR pathways, promoting fatty acid oxidation and glucose uptake.
