Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed in HEK293 cells. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is the ligand of the c-Kit oncogene and is expressed by various structural and inflammatory cells in the airways. Binding of SCF to the c-Kit receptor induces receptor homodimerization and activates signaling pathways such as PI3K, PLC-γ, Jak/STAT, and MAP kinase.
SCF expression promotes mast cell survival and the release of histamine, cytokines, and chemokines. Inhibition of the SCF/c-Kit pathway reduces histamine levels, mast cell and eosinophil infiltration, IL-4 production, and airway hyperresponsiveness, indicating potential therapeutic relevance in inflammatory diseases such as asthma. At least two isoforms of SCF are known.
