Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information
Cortactin (Cttn) is a ubiquitous actin-binding protein originally identified as a substrate for Src. It contributes to actin cytoskeleton organization and cell shape, and plays a role in lamellipodia formation and cell migration.
Cortactin accumulates in peripheral, actin-enriched structures, facilitating actin network formation. It has four major domains: N-terminal acidic (NTA), tandem repeats, proline-rich, and SH3 domains.
NTA associates with the Arp2/3 and WASP complex at F-actin branches. Cortactin promotes cell motility and invasion, playing a critical role in invadopodia formation, which is associated with ECM degradation by cancer cells.
It is phosphorylated by Src family kinases at Y421, Y466, Y482, and by Erk family kinases at S405 and S418.
