Product Specific Information
- Predicted to react with mouse based on sequence homology.
- Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as a ~150 kDa band and, upon reduction, generates ~25 kDa (light chain) and ~50 kDa (heavy chain) bands.
- Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits.
- Advantages include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
INSR (Insulin Receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase. Binding of insulin to its extracellular domain stimulates glucose uptake. INSR and IGF-1 receptors share major structural and functional similarities. The earliest cellular response to insulin stimulation is autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues in INSR.
In humans, the INSR gene is located on chromosome 19. Mutations or defects in INSR are associated with various insulin resistance syndromes, while IGF-1R defects may contribute to certain growth retardation disorders.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
