Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-4. The anti-Rat IL-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-4 by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When paired with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat IL-4 (500-P94) as a capture antibody, detection sensitivity reaches 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-4.

Western Blot:
For detection of Rat IL-4 by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under both reducing and non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin-4 receptor. IL-4 exhibits broad biological activity and shares overlapping functions with IL-13 due to receptor cross-binding. STAT6 acts as a key signal transducer in IL-4-mediated immune regulation. The IL-4 gene is located on chromosome 5q within a cytokine gene cluster that includes IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2. IL-4 and IL-13 genes are closely positioned and co-regulated by long-range elements over approximately 120 kb. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant of IL-4.
