Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat IL-4. Anti-Rat IL-4-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat IL-4 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Rat IL-4 (500-P94) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat IL-4.

Western Blot:
To detect Rat IL-4 by Western blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat IL-4 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin 4 receptor. IL-4 has a broad range of biological actions and shares overlapping functions with IL-13 through receptor binding. STAT6 is a key transcription factor mediating IL-4 signaling. The IL-4 gene is located on chromosome 5q within a cytokine gene cluster along with IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2, coordinated by long-range regulatory elements. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant.
