Target Information

VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) is a 45 kDa homodimeric glycoprotein crucial for angiogenesis, tumor progression, and metastasis. It promotes endothelial cell viability, mitogenesis, chemotaxis, and vascular permeability. The VEGF family includes VEGF-A, B, C, D, E, and PIGF, all regulating angiogenic signaling through receptors FLT1 (VEGFR-1) and FLK1/KDR (VEGFR-2).
Elevated VEGF levels are associated with POEMS syndrome (Polyneuropathy, Organomegaly, Endocrinopathy, Monoclonal gammopathy, Skin changes), also known as Crow-Fukase syndrome.
