Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They combine the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, while maintaining lot-to-lot consistency through recombinant production. Each product contains a defined mixture of recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing high sensitivity for low-abundance targets and consistent performance across batches.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody”. Physical product and performance remain unchanged.
Target Information
IFN gamma (Interferon gamma, Type II interferon) is a macrophage activation factor and immune interferon produced primarily by T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells in response to antigens, mitogens, and cytokines. It is a dimeric glycoprotein (~45 kDa) composed of two 146 amino acid subunits. IFN gamma exhibits species-specific biological activity and functions in antiviral defense, tumor suppression, macrophage activation, and immunoglobulin secretion enhancement.
Activation occurs via binding to IFN gamma receptor I and II, initiating the JAK-STAT pathway. Human IFN gamma shares ~40% sequence homology with mouse IFN gamma. Gene mutations are associated with aplastic anemia.
