This antibody reacts to Histone H2A.Z protein, independent of post-translational modifications, and shows no cross-reactivity with other histone proteins.

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. Specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal clones for production.

Target Information

Histones are basic nuclear proteins that form the nucleosome structure of eukaryotic chromatin. Each nucleosome consists of an octamer of core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped. The linker histone H1 binds to linker DNA between nucleosomes, aiding in chromatin compaction. The Histone H2A.Z gene encodes a member of the histone H2A family and produces two transcripts through different termination motifs.
