Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human CXCL16. Anti-Human CXCL16-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human CXCL16 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human CXCL16 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human CXCL16 (500-P200Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human CXCL16.

Western Blot:
To detect Human CXCL16 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human CXCL16 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

CXCL16 is a member of the CXC chemokine family and signals through the CXCR6 receptor. It may play a role in attracting lymphocyte subsets during inflammation and facilitate certain immune responses. The chemokine domain of CXCL16 contains six cysteine residues, including four highly conserved cysteines characteristic of CXC chemokines. The CXCL16 gene encodes a 273 amino acid polypeptide, including a 29 amino acid cytoplasmic domain and a transmembrane sequence of approximately 20 amino acids. The extracellular portion contains a chemokine domain and an extended C-terminal mucin-like stalk sequence, with 89 amino acid residues (86 for the murine homolog).
