Product Specific Information

The eBio124-1D1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD7, also known as gp40 and Leu9. CD7 is a 40 kDa receptor and a member of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily. It is expressed on immature and mature T lymphocytes, T cell leukemias, natural killer cells, a small subset of normal B cells, and malignant B cells.

Cross-linking surface CD7 modulates T cell and NK cell activity, influencing calcium flux, adhesion molecule expression, cytokine secretion, and proliferation. CD7 associates with phosphoinositol 3-kinase, and ligation induces D-3 phosphoinositide production and tyrosine phosphorylation.

A clonogenic subpopulation of CD34(+) CD38(-) cord blood cells expressing CD7 has lymphoid differentiation potential but not myeloid or erythroid development capacity. CD7 expression distinguishes primitive lymphoid progenitors from pluripotent stem cells.

CD7 may cooperate with CD28 in Treg function; deficiency in both reduces Treg numbers and suppressive activity.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry at 5 µL (0.8 µg)/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Note: NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., PI, 7-AAD, DAPI). Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates. Add 5 µL per sample before combining antibodies with cells. For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample.

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology with engineered fluorescent signatures minimizing spillover and spread.
Excitation: 552 nm; Emission: 612 nm; Laser: 561 nm (Yellow).


Target Information

CD7 (gp40, Leu9) is a 40 kDa immunoglobulin superfamily member expressed on most immature and mature T lymphocytes and T cell leukemias. It is also present on NK cells, some normal B cells, and malignant B cells. CD7 signaling modulates T and NK cell activity and is used as a diagnostic marker in leukemia.
