Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human PDGF-BB. The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography using an immobilized Human PDGF-BB matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human PDGF-BB by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human PDGF-BB (500-P47Bt) as the detection antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human PDGF-BB.

Western Blot:
To detect hPDGF-BB by Western blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. With compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hPDGF-BB is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) family, which includes four members that are mitogenic for cells of mesenchymal origin and characterized by a motif of eight cysteines. The gene product can form either a homodimer (PDGF-BB) or a heterodimer with PDGF-α (PDGF-AB), connected by disulfide bonds. Mutations are associated with meningioma, and translocations between chromosomes 22 and 7 (involving COL1A1) are linked to dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans due to unregulated growth factor expression. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
