Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human SCF. Anti-Human SCF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human SCF matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human SCF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In combination with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human SCF (500-P48Bt) as a detection antibody, this allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human SCF.

Western Blot:
For detection of hSCF by Western blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. In conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hSCF is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under both reducing and non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is the ligand of the c-Kit oncogene and is expressed by various structural and inflammatory cells in the airways. Binding of SCF to the c-Kit receptor induces receptor homodimerization and activates signaling pathways such as PI3K, PLC-γ, Jak/STAT, and MAP kinase. SCF promotes mast cell survival and histamine, cytokine, and chemokine release. Inhibition of the SCF/c-Kit pathway reduces histamine levels, mast cell and eosinophil infiltration, IL-4 production, and airway hyperresponsiveness, suggesting potential therapeutic applications in inflammatory diseases such as asthma. At least two isoforms of SCF are known.
