The Applied Biosystems™ Human PGK1 (phosphoglycerate kinase 1) Endogenous Control (VIC™/MGB Probe, Primer Limited) is designed as an endogenous control for relative gene expression quantification in cDNA samples. It can be used with other gene expression assays for multiplex or singleplex PCR reactions. The probe is labeled with VIC™ dye and MGB, with limited primers for optimized performance.

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls simplify the selection of appropriate controls for most common human, mouse, rat, and eukaryotic genes, reducing trial-and-error in assay setup.

Simple to Use

All components are QC tested and formulated into a single 20X mix. They are compatible with universal two-step RT-PCR conditions. Combine with TaqMan™ Universal PCR Master Mix (with or without AmpErase™ UNG) and cDNA samples for sensitive, reproducible quantitative gene expression on Applied Biosystems instruments such as:

Each endogenous control uses proven 5′ nuclease chemistry. Available configurations:

• FAM™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) + two unlabeled primers (900 nM each)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TaqMan™ MGB probe (250 nM) + two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)
• VIC™ dye-labeled TAMRA™ probe (250 nM) + two unlabeled primers (150 nM each, primer limited)

Choosing the Right Endogenous Control

Select an endogenous control that is consistently expressed across all samples. For multiplexing, ensure the control gene’s expression level exceeds that of the target gene.

Multiplex vs. Singleplex PCR

TaqMan™ Endogenous Controls with VIC™ dye probes are primer limited for multiplexing. Controls with FAM™ dye probes are not primer limited and intended for singleplex reactions.
