Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

IL-6 is a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. The protein encoded by this gene acts as an endogenous pyrogen, inducing fever in autoimmune diseases or infections. It is primarily expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation and induces a transcriptional inflammatory response through the interleukin 6 receptor, alpha.

Elevated IL-6 levels are associated with various inflammatory diseases, including diabetes mellitus, systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Kaposi sarcoma, and rheumatoid arthritis. Increased IL-6 expression has also been observed in viral infections such as COVID-19 (caused by SARS-CoV-2).
