This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. It is a main regulator of eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 production is associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.

The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer, with a beta subunit shared by receptors for IL-3 and CSF2 (GM-CSF). IL-5, IL-4, IL-13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5, regulated coordinately by long-range regulatory elements spanning approximately 120 kilobases on chromosome 5q31.
