Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Transthyretin (TTR), also known as prealbumin, is a plasma protein functioning as a transporter of thyroxine and retinal-binding protein. It is mainly produced in the liver and secreted into plasma. TTR constitutes about 25% of CSF protein, suggesting selective transport across the blood-CSF barrier or synthesis within the CNS. It is found in neuritic plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, and microangiopathic lesions associated with senile cerebral amyloid. Over 40 mutations of the TTR gene have been linked to amyloid deposition.
