• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
  Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Transthyretin (TTR), also known as prealbumin, is a plasma protein that functions as a transporter for thyroxine and retinol-binding protein. It is primarily synthesized in the liver and secreted into the plasma. TTR constitutes approximately 25% of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) protein, suggesting selective transport across the blood-CSF barrier or synthesis within the central nervous system. Transthyretin is found in neuritic plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, and microangiopathic lesions of senile cerebral amyloid. Over 40 mutations in the TTR gene have been associated with amyloid deposition.
