- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
For formalin-fixed tissues, heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Transthyretin (TTR), also known as prealbumin, is a plasma protein that transports thyroxine and retinol-binding protein. It is primarily synthesized in the liver and secreted into plasma. TTR constitutes about 25% of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) protein and may be transported across the blood-CSF barrier or synthesized within the central nervous system. It is found in neuritic plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, and microangiopathic lesions associated with senile cerebral amyloid. Over 40 mutations in the TTR gene have been linked to amyloid deposition disorders.
