It does not react with TNF-alpha, FasL, or TRAIL.
Target Information
TNF-related weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily (TNFSF).
It is a type II transmembrane protein, with a smaller biologically active form generated by cleavage near the cell membrane.
TWEAK has multiple biological activities including:
- Stimulation of cell growth and angiogenesis
- Induction of inflammatory cytokines
- Stimulation of apoptosis
The TWEAK signal transduction pathway is mediated via TweakR/Fn14, similar to other TNFSF members that bind receptors lacking death domains.
