Specificity: This antibody recognises the extracellular domain V between residues 420 and 431 in MARCO both in human and bovine samples.
Target Information
MARCO (Macrophage Receptor with Collagenous Structure), also known as SR-A6 or SCARA2, is a macrophage surface receptor and a member of the class A scavenger receptor family.
It plays a role in the innate antimicrobial immune system by binding both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria via an extracellular scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domain.
The protein includes short cytoplasmic and transmembrane domains, an extracellular spacer domain, and a long collagenous domain that may form trimeric structures.
Due to its expression in tumor-infiltrating macrophages and its role in immune suppression within tumor environments, MARCO is considered a potential target for cancer immunotherapy.
