For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Interleukin 8 (IL-8, CXCL8) is a 72-amino-acid pro-inflammatory cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It binds to cell surface receptors IL-8RA and IL-8RB, functioning as a chemoattractant and potent angiogenic factor.
IL-8 expression and secretion are induced by inflammatory stimuli in various cells, including macrophages and endothelial cells. In endothelial cells, IL-8 is stored in Weibel-Palade bodies.

IL-8 was first isolated from osteosarcoma cells and contains the ELR motif (Glu-Leu-Arg), signaling through CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors.
Previous names include NAP-1, GCP-1, MONAP, and protein 3-10C.
The IL-8 gene is part of a chemokine cluster on chromosome 4q, and studies suggest its involvement in tumor angiogenesis and bronchiolitis pathogenesis.
