It interacts with both the 3′ poly-A tails and the 5′ terminal oligopyrimidine (5′TOP) motif of mRNAs, influencing translation and protein synthesis. Phosphorylation by mTORC1 modulates its binding behavior, impacting cell growth, proliferation, and apoptosis regulation.
