Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates.

Target Information
The CYP3A4 gene encodes a cytochrome P450 enzyme involved in drug metabolism and lipid synthesis. This enzyme localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and is induced by glucocorticoids and various drugs. It metabolizes approximately half of all commonly used drugs (e.g., acetaminophen, codeine, cyclosporin A, diazepam, erythromycin) as well as certain steroids and carcinogens.
CYP3A4 is part of a gene cluster on chromosome 7q21.1. The previously identified CYP3A3 is now considered a transcript variant of CYP3A4, with multiple alternatively spliced isoforms.
