Target Information

ROS1 is a tyrosine kinase that functions as a growth or differentiation factor receptor. Protein kinases transfer phosphate groups from ATP to substrate proteins, mediating signal transduction in eukaryotic cells. They regulate metabolism, transcription, cell cycle, cytoskeletal rearrangement, movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.

The protein kinase family includes over 500 gene products, classified into 8 major groups based on catalytic domain sequences. Tyrosine kinases (TKs) primarily regulate cell-cell interactions such as differentiation, adhesion, motility, and death. Approximately 90 TK genes have been sequenced, including 58 receptor TKs (e.g., EGFR, EPH, FGFR, PDGFR, TRK, VEGFR) and 32 cytosolic TKs (e.g., ABL, FAK, JAK, SRC).
