Target Information

TSC22 domain family protein (TSC22D1) is a transcription factor belonging to the early response gene family.
It acts as a transcriptional repressor on the C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) promoter and is part of the TSC-22/Dip/Bun family.
This intracellular protein localizes to both cytoplasm and nucleus, regulating cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis.
It modulates Smad3 and Smad4 transcriptional activity and is expressed in most fetal and adult tissues, including aortic endothelial cells.
Expression is induced by cytokines such as TGFB, and TSC22D1 may serve as a potential therapeutic target in leukemia and prostate cancer.
