Rat anti-Mouse CD204 antibody, clone 2F8 recognizes the murine scavenger receptor class A (SRA), type I and II, also known as CD204.
Target Information
The CD204 gene encodes class A macrophage scavenger receptors, including three types (1, 2, 3) generated by alternative splicing.
These macrophage-specific trimeric integral membrane glycoproteins are involved in physiological and pathological processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.
- Type 1 & 2: Functional receptors mediating endocytosis of modified LDLs.
- Type 3: Non-functional; trapped in the endoplasmic reticulum, inhibiting types 1 and 2 (dominant negative effect).
- Associated diseases: Barrett Esophagus, Prostate Cancer.
